Doug and Wendy’s slide show is finally ready for your viewing enjoyment! Yeah!

I would have had this up sooner, but the plague swept through our house these past 2 weeks and between all four of us we’ve had 7 filled prescriptions, 5 trips to doctors, 4 major colds, 2 eye infections, 1 sinus infection with a little case of strep and a partridge in a pear tree!! Geesh! We are mostly on the mend now though… thank you Lord!

Back to Doug and Wendy… Sit back, get comfy and just click on the image below to enjoy their beautiful day.

and for all of Doug and Wendy’s family and friends… Their entire event will be available to proof and order here.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

1 Peter 1:3

Happy Easter! I hope everyone had a wonderful day of Celebration!

And some pics of Easter happenings…

It seems impossible to get a good snapshot of the 4 of us since the kids are SO squirmy and wild right now, but I thought, “It’s Easter, let’s try to get one.” So this is us outside after lunch with Derek’s fam.  And seriously… am I supposed to be a professional? Who picked to stand in front of that background?!?

Wendy & Doug- Married! (Part 1)

•April 6, 2009 • 4 Comments

As Derek and I drove to the church for the wedding day of Doug & Wendy, I looked out my window and couldn’t help but think, “Wow! God made a good one.” It was a beautiful day- gorgeous blue sky, puffy clouds and a gentle breeze. I love it when a wedding starts with gorgeous weather. Then from gorgeous weather we went right on to a gorgeous bride and an all around amazing day!

Doug and Wendy are incredibly kind, genuine and fun people, and from hanging out with them for their engagement shoot, I knew their wedding day was going to be so full of love, laughter and joy- which it was, of course!

I’ve just started processing, so a full slideshow will be coming later, but for now here’s a little re-cap of the day.

Global Freedom

Over the past 6 weeks God has been doing some amazing stuff both in our own lives and in the life of our church as well. 2 weeks ago we had a commitment service for the Global freedom initiative our church has been rolling out. This campaign has 3 main parts- 1) Doing some necessary improvements and expansion on our church campus 2) Ministering in our community by partnering with several local non-profits to help with things such as after school programs, a crisis pregnancy center, feeding homeless, etc. 3) Building schools and vocational centers for the Dalit people in India. The Dalit’s in India have captured the heart of many in our church and our leadership responded to God’s call to this HUGE task… to one day Free the Dalit people through education.

So over a short series we studied topics such as ownership, commitment and risk. It became clear really fast that this was about so much more than giving $ to a campaign. This was about living not for ourselves, but for our Creator. For Derek and I it quickly became a journey in faith, hearing God’s voice, taking risks and ultimately living our life for more than just the here and now. We were very challenged and encouraged by the whole thing and we are SO excited to see how God uses this time in our church to change our own lives and to impact our community and the world!

Here are some images from commitment Sunday.

It was so cool to see the Jr. High and High School students all pumped up and ready to go! They made signs, and brought their “piggy” banks to the front as everyone else brought their cards forward.

Dr. D’Souza, who works in India with the Dalit Freedom Network, came to share and encourage us all. He always has great stories of amazing things going on in India!

I’ll end with a sign that pretty much sums it up for Derek and I. As uncertain as life is financially for so many of us; it is exciting to be a part of a movement of people who are choosing the path of faith, the lesser traveled road- one that involves not reliance on our own abilities and accomplishments, but on God’s sovereignty, provision and goodness.

The kiddos.

So what’s new with the Frenzel kids?

Well I almost officially have 2 toddlers! Raylee is 10 1/2 months old now and yesterday I found her standing in the middle of the room not holding onto anything! She’s been cruising for a few months, but this standing all on her own is new. I don’t think I’m ready to have 2 walkers, but I guess it doesn’t matter what I’m ready for cause it’s coming quickly! My peanut is also quite the mischievous one- Let’s say she goes for a cord that’s plugged in, I say, “Raylee danger! No touch!” She’ll stop, turn and look at me and flash a big smile, then turn right back around and touch it!!  That girl already knows how to use her charm- we’re in trouble!

Raylee and Jackson have quite the budding friendship. It makes me smile to see how much they adore each other. If Raylee is napping longer than him or not up when he’s up in the morning he will always ask, “Where’s Raylee?”, or “Can I get Raylee?”. They’ve developed some games in the car too- Raylee will start kicking her feet real fast, then Jackson kicks back, then Raylee again, and so on. They also do the back and forth thing with loud noises- You know in Dumb and Dumber when Lloyd says… “You wanna hear the most annoying sound in the wold?”- yay like that! And words too (sorta). Jackson will say to Raylee, “Say Da-Da” or “Raylee say Ba-Ba”, and she usually does! He also asks her to say motorcycle, ballon, firetruck, etc. to which she usually answers back with a loud “aaahhhhh!!”

On the Jackson front- Some of my fav things he’s done/said lately…

- He always asks me “Mama what time is it?” and when I tell him he then repeats the time back to me, and a few minutes later I’ll hear him saying to himself, “It’s 3:48″

-He LOVES music and after hearing a song a few times he can sing it! It’s pretty crazy to hear him just start singing along to a song on the radio, or to hear him walking around the house singing everything from, “Come Thou fount” to “The Farmer and the Del” to the new U2 single “Get on your boots”.

-The other day I told him we were going to the park to play with cousin Kate and he quickly jumped in, “I go play with Kate and Everett and Aunt Heidi and not Michael” I said, “Your right not Michael, why not?” And he said, “cause Michael go work, like Daddy go work!”

- His prayer the other day at nap time… “Dear Jesus I thank you my daddy go work, thank you my cars, thank you my ball, thank you my milk, thank you my church (we had just gone to bible study- which he loves!), please help Raylee have sweet dreams, help mama go work (I tell him that I work while he naps), help Jackson good nap and Jesus I love you. Amen, sweet dreams! -So precious- I heart him!
