Memorial day, etc.

Hi all- Happy Memorial Day!

I hope on this beautiful CA day you are able to have some good time with family and some good time to reflect on the great sacrifices so many have made for us to be able to enjoy this day. To all who have served, and do serve our country and especially to those families who have lost a loved one… thank you! The sacrifice, bravery and dedication of your loved ones will always be respected and remembered by me.

Now I must get this off my chest… I really loathe the internet right now!!!! There I said it, now I feel better. I’ve been trying to publish my new blog for over a week now, to no avail. The company I’m hosting through has been really no help; but I pray we are getting closer! So I have all these fun new posts up and ready to be read at our new location, but alas no can see them!

So, until all the stars align and we are able to get the issue figured out, I thought I’d say an unofficial hi from Frenzel Photographers. Check out some of our new print work…

First our purty new logo…

As I’ve been saying for awhile now… new things are in store for me here at SF Photo… New things like Sarah Frenzel Photography is actually going buh-bye. My husband Derek has joined my team and now our photography business is his official full time job too! I couldn’t be more thrilled for this! So, in honor of my new CEO, CFO, CCO (that’s chief construction officer- he builds stuff really well!), and many many more things… we’re changing our name and our look. We are also bringing you a lot more of ourselves- enough “trying” to be a certain thing- more specifically what I thought a good photographers branding should look like… boring! We are who we are and we hope you like us! If not, don’t hire us… if so, we’ll look forward to chatting with you!

We’ll be making the big shift in a few days, but for now… a little taste of things to come…

Happy Thursday!

Rollercoaster.

Wow the past few weeks have taken me for a ride. I was just writing a friend about what’s been going on in life and thought I’d share it here too. Almost 2 weeks ago a friend of our family suddenly and tragically died. He was an awesome man with such a sweet wife and 3 great girls. He’s been a good friend to my dad for over 10 years and was my sisters basketball coach all through high school. The memorial service was Monday, and it was jam packed! Which was a testament to the influence he had in so many lives. It was amazing to see and hear so many stories of Tony’s influence; but it’s been gut wrenching thinking of his family left behind.

On Monday I also learned that my old neighbor, died in her sleep unexpectedly and tragically. Erin was so young, vibrant and sweet and had  been married to her love for only about a year. She was the daughter-in-law of our pastor and the daughter of a family in our church.

It’s been incredibly hard to make any sense of this. And now that I’m a wife and a mom I feel the pain for people on different levels than I did when I was single. My heart is broken for the families of both Tony and Erin.

But on the upside of this ride, God has been showing up in really cool ways in my life. I’ll share more of this later… but just know that it is so exciting when God provide in ways you couldn’t have imagined yourself and through avenues you didn’t even know to pray for. He truly does care about the big and little things… even when our emotions tell us otherwise.

And on the business front…I’ve been lost in a sea of designing, processing, more designing, learning HTML, and creating. Although things are going more slowly than I would like, I can see the light at the end of this “re-branding” tunnel. The website is still a little ways off, but we should be up and running with our new blog in no time! (Cross your fingers, say a prayer, and kiss your lucky rabbit for me!)

So, I’m still here… strapped into my seat, awaiting the next twist, turn, up or down (please not a down though! I’ve had enough of those for a while).

Amber & Greg- Engaged!

Easy smiles. Gentle kisses. Contagious laughter.  These are the things that marked our day- Amber & Greg are such a cute couple in love.

After seeing another shoot I did in the east Yorba Linda area, they decided they wanted to do their session there too. Amber & Greg, like us, live out in east Yorba Linda, and for those of us affected by the fires last November, it means something to see the gorgeous wildflowers in bloom against the black of the burnt out riverbed landscape.

As we started the shoot they were quick to inform me that they, “weren’t good at this,” and that they “don’t like being in pictures.” I kinda laughed, smiled, and said, “Ok… you two are gorgeous, and I think you’ll do just fine!”

And of course, I was right… they did fine… so much more than fine that I had a really hard time picking just a few to share, so here’s a bunch from our time together.

we started out playing around by the train tracks.

So I was snapping a shot of them looking at me, smiling and all of a sudden Greg busts out this face, and the rest went from there! I love it when my clients let loose a bit and aren’t afraid to be silly.

If I haven’t said it before, I’ll say it now… I LOVE my new camera!! This shot was taken after the sun went down…A-mazing!
